Remembrance Day 2025

Remembering Indian Soldiers

During the First World War, over 1.4 million soldiers from India served, including many brave Sikh and Hindu soldiers. More than 64,000 lost their lives in the conflict. In the Second World War, millions more from India served, with over 87,000 fatalities. Despite their enormous contribution, their stories are often forgotten. Today, we remember and honour their courage and sacrifice.

Mission Marigold
Mission Marigold is a project dedicated to uncovering and sharing the stories of Commonwealth soldiers from India and other countries whose contributions have largely been overlooked. By highlighting the service of millions of soldiers and the tens of thousands who died, the project ensures that their bravery is remembered and celebrated for future generations.
